HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata softball team dropped two to Landmark opponent, Elizabethtown, 9-4 and 17-4, Saturday at West End Field.

In the game one, Elizabethtown took an early lead as they scored two in the top of the third until Juniata answered back with three runs of their own in the bottom of the third. Alyssa "Sheddy" Shedlock (State College, Pa. / State College) singled to left field then Abby Ebright (Harrisburg, Pa. / Central Dauphin East HS) singled to third base, advancing Shedlock. Ashley Clark (Saxton, Pa. / Tussey Mountain) singled up the middle to advance, Ebright and Shedlock. Catherine Miller (Huntingdon, Pa. / Huntingdon Area) reached first on an error by the third basewoman which allowed Shedlock to score. With a bases loaded and a Maya McLeod (San Diego, Calif. / La Jolla Country Day School) walk to first, JC scored again. A ground out to the shortstop advanced Clark across home plate for an Eagle, 3-2 lead. 

The Blue Jays tied up the game in the fifth and the next two innings were scoreless causing the team to go into an extra inning. Elizabethtown got things going in the top of the eighth as they scored six runs. Juniata tried to get it back but were only able to score a run in the bottom of the eighth. Natalie Krug (Altoona, Pa. / Altoona Area HS) singled up the middle and Molly Ulrich (Homer, N.Y. / Homer Central) singled to second base, advancing Krug. Ulrich and Krug advanced on a Shedlock walk. A ground out to the pitcher brought Krug home as the Eagles fell, 9-4. 

Shedlock went 2-4 with a run scored. Ebright went 3-5 with a run scored and a RBI. Krug went 2-4 with a run scored. 

Juniata was unable to stop Elizabethtown in game two as the Blue Jays tacked on five runs in the first and two in the second to take a substantial, 7-0 lead. In the bottom of the second, Anna Baran (Tyrone, Pa. / Tyrone) singled to right center and then advanced to second on the throw. Baran advanced again on a ground out to the pitcher. Shedlock singled to third base sending Baran home. The Blue Jays added another run the top of the third to lead, 8-1.

In the bottom of the third, JC once again got on the board. Maggie Peck (Philipsburg, Pa. / Philipsburg Osceola) doubled down the left field line. A McLeod single to third base and an error by the third basewoman sent Peck home. Krug singled to center field to advance two runners. Ulrich doubled down the left field line for two RBI as the Eagles trailed, 8-4. Elizabethtown tacked on four runs in the fourth and five more in the top of the fifth to end the game, 17-4 in five innings. 

Peck went 2-3 with a double and a run scored. Ulrich went 1-2 with a double and two RBI's. 

Juniata travels to Penn St.-Altoona, Thursday April 18th for a doubleheader starting at 3:00PM.
