Women’s Tennis Triumphs Over Albright College

ALBRIGHT, Pa.- The Juniata College women's tennis team won 8-1 against Albright College, Saturday afternoon.

Anjali Mistry (Mount Holly, NJ./ Rancocas) and Savannah Bailey (Rockville, Md./ Richard Montgomery) won 8-1 at second doubles and Kelley Appow (Freehold, NJ./Freehold Township) and Soumya Polavarapu (Bridgewater, NJ/ Bridgewater Raritan) won 8-1 at third doubles.

Lauren Lucas (Holidaysburg, Pa./ Altoona Area HS) won 7-6, 7-6 at first singles, Katherine Conklin (Freehold, NJ/ Freehold Township) won 6-0, 6-0 at second singles, and Mistry won 6-3, 6-2 at third singles. Bailey won 6-0, 6-0 at fourth singles, Grace Lewis (Northampton, Pa./ Northampton Area HS) won 6-2, 6-1 at fifth singles, and Appow won 6-1, 6-2 at sixth singles.

Lucas upended the MAC Player of the Year and came from behind in both sets to pull off the victory. 

The Eagles return to play at home Wednesday, September 20th vs. Penn St. Altoona at 4:30.
