LEWISBURG, PA- The men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Bison Classic hosted by Bucknell University on Saturday.
The men had several top times led by Jaie Johnson (Reading, Pa./Reading) who was first in Section 8 in the 400 meter dash with a time of 52.18. Fellow Eagles AJ Hutchison (Loveland, Co./Greeley Central) (55.73) and Davon Jackson (Deptford, NJ/Deptford Township) (54.68) both came in third in their respective sections. Ryan Mull was fourth in Section 1 with a final time of 57.40.
In the 500-meter run, Steven Guetzlaff (Schnecksville, Pa. / Parkland) placed third in Section 4 (1:12.23). Gabriel Duran (Temple, Pa. / Oley Valley) was two slots behind him (1:14.20). Tyler Mandley (Altoona, Pa. / Altoona Area) (1:10.24) came in fourth in Section 6. Jacob Krott (Temple, Pa. / Muhlenberg) was the lone participant in the 1000-meter run. He was sixth with a time of 2:51.97.
Conor Dimond (Summerhill, Pa. / Forest Hills) was second in the one-mile run (4:34.77). Kevin Schofield (Madison, CT / Daniel Hand) was 13th (9:33.19). The 5000-meter run saw Stephen Park finish in fourth (16:08.89). Matt Guetzlaff (Schnecksville, Pa. / Parkland) was 11th in Section 2 (15:52.66). The 4x400 meter relay team was fifth in Section 1 (3:48.42) and seventh in Section 2 (3:38.04). In the field events, Andrew Paterno (Waynesboro, Pa. / Waynesboro) was fifth with a throw of 13.18 meters.
On the women's side, Jecenia Duran (Temple, Pa. / Olley Valley) had a team-best third place result in the 500 meter run. She finished with a time of 1:31.20 in Section 3. Chelsea Chizmar (Johnstown, Pa. / Forest Hills) was fifth in Section 2 (1:28.19). Erin Gaines (Hagerstown, Md. / Williamsport High School) was fifth in the 400-meter dash in the first section (1:08.51). The 4x400 meter relay team was fourth (4:33.68).
In field events, Chelsea Beaver (Shamokin Dam, Pa. / Selinsgrove Area) had a 11.73 toss in the weight throw to come in fifth I the first flight. Katelyn Fisher (Rochester, N.Y. / Greece Athena) had a high jump measure of 1.50 meters in come in eighth.
Both teams will compete next weekend at the Crusader Classic hosted by Susquehanna.
