Women's Track and Field Competes at Widener Invitational

CHESTER, Pa. - The Eagles competed at the Widener Invitational on Friday and Saturday.


In the 1500m, freshman Yanibel Collado (Freeport, NY / Forest Hills) placed 23rd with a time of 5:03.06. Alli Goulden (Wharton, NJ / Morris Krolls) followed behind in 60th place.


Senior Erin Gaines (Hagerstown, MD / Williamsport) finished the 100m hurdles race with a time of 17.44 in 26th place. In the 400m, Faith Nichols (Pittsburgh, PA / Taylor Allderdice) ran a time of 1:05.52, placing 28th.


Senior Jecenia Duran (Temple, Pa. / Olley Valley) placed 27th in the 800m with a time of 2:27.31. Collado finished the race in 36th place, followed by Meaghen Stewart in 49th.


In the 400m hurdles, Gaines finished 15th, running a time of 1:10.60. Freshman Caitlyn Gasmen (Bridgewater, NJ / Bridgewater-Raritan) finished the race in 25th place. Senior Alissa Sellers (Huntingdon, Pa. / Huntingdon Area) placed 31st on the 200m with a time of 26.89.


In the field events, senior Sarah Rhodes (Bloomfield, NY / Bloomfield) placed 16th in the hammer, throwing a distance of 35.43m. Rhodes also placed 12th in the shot put event, her throw measuring a distance of 9.79m. Kylie Orndorf (Milheim, Pa. / Penns Valley) finished 13th in the event, respectively, reaching a distance of 9.65m.


Orndorf placed 3rd in the javelin, her throw measuring a distance of 36.51m. In the long jump Sellers placed 15th with a jump of 4.77m.


The Juniata women's track and field team will compete at the Paul Kaiser Invitational next Saturday, April 20.
