Three Athletes Recognized on All-Decade Team

TOWSON, Md. - The Landmark Conference is naming some of the conference's top athletes to All-Decade teams in celebration of its 10-year anniversary. The conference honored two Juniata jumpers and one distance runner in the Women's Indoor Track and Field All-Decade Team.

Kelsey Buffenmyer and Angela Shaffer sit side-by-side in the Juniata record book in almost all of their events. Buffenmyer, 2009 graduate, holds the high jump record with her 1.66m performance at the WVU Holiday Classic. Buffenmyer also holds the program's long jump record (5.22m).

Shaffer participated in many events in her time as an Eagle, including hurdling, sprinting, jumping and throwing. Of all the events, she excelled in hurdles and jumps. She beat out Buffenmyer's program-leading 9.75 60m hurdle with her 9.21 time at the 2010 Landmark Championship. The 2013 graduate is second in the high jump, behind Buffenmyer, with her 1.64m jump and in the triple jump with a mark of 10.30m.

The Landmark also selected successful distance runner Katrina Woods for the All-Decade team. From 2010-2014, Woods set the program's top times in the mile (5:10.79), 3000m (10:19.78) and 5000m (18:26.37). Her top 5000m mark came in the Landmark Championship her senior year. Woods was also named to the Women's Cross Country All-Decade Team as well.

All three athletes were named the Landmark's Senior Scholar Athlete in their respective senior years.
