Bauer and Shaffer shine at Susquehanna Crusader Indoor Invitational
Juniata College senior Nicholas Bauer (Glen Ridge, N.J./Glen Ridge) and junior Angela Shaffer (Prospect, Pa./Slippery Rock) each took first place honors at Friday evening’s Crusader Indoor Invitational.

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Juniata College senior Nicholas Bauer (Glen Ridge, N.J./Glen Ridge) and junior Angela Shaffer (Prospect, Pa./Slippery Rock) each took first place honors at Friday evening’s Crusader Indoor Invitational.
Bauer finished first in the long jump with a mark of 21-6 ¾, which ranks as the top effort to date in the Landmark Conference this indoor season.
Shaffer captured the women’s high jump and the 60m hurdles, both with among the top times or marks in the Landmark this season. Her winning mark in the high jump was an effort of 5-3 ¾, while she captured the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.64 seconds.
Aaron McCoy (Muncy, Pa./Hughesville) equaled Shaffer’s feat 60m hurdles, winning the men’s event with a time of 7.24 seconds.
In the middle distance events, Katrina Woods (Shirleysburg, Pa./Mount Union) won the women’s mile run with a time of 5:24.27.
Both Juniata track teams return to competition next Saturday, Feb. 11, when they travel to Lewisburg, Pa., to participate in the Bucknell Winter Classic.
