Eagles Sweep Drew in Day One of Series
MADISON, N.J. â The Juniata College baseball team swept Landmark Conference rival Drew University Saturday afternoon to improve to 8-15 overall, 4-6 against league opponents. An explosive first inning led to a 12-3 win in game one for Juniata. The Eagles then went on to earn the 7-0 win in game two.

MADISON, N.J. – The Juniata College baseball team swept Landmark Conference rival Drew University Saturday afternoon to improve to 8-15 overall, 4-6 against league opponents. An explosive first inning led to a 12-3 win in game one for Juniata. The Eagles then went on to earn the 7-0 win in game two.
This is the first time since 2010 the Eagles swept a conference opponent in day one of the series. Junior Joe Sforza (Pittstown, N.J./Immaculata) went 6-for-9, with two home runs and four RBI. He batted .667 and had a slugging percentage of 1.333. Sforza also earned the win for the Eagles after pitching five inning.
In game two, sophomore Chris Fulton (West Chester, Pa./Unionville) pitched the shutout. He went a complete seven innings, striking out four to improve to 2-5 this season.
The teams close the series on Sunday, April 7 with a single nine inning game that starts at noon.
