Eagles Drop Resumed Game to Lycoming, 10–5
HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Juniata baseball fell to Lycoming, 10–5, Friday afternoon in the completion of a game that began a week earlier but was suspended due to rain.
The contest initially started on April 25 and was halted in the bottom of the fourth with the score tied 3–3 and the Eagles threatening with the bases loaded. When play resumed on May 2 at Langdon-Goodale Field, Juniata was unable to capitalize on the scoring opportunity and Lycoming slowly pulled away over the final five innings.
The Warriors broke a scoreless tie in the top of the third with a three-run frame, highlighted by a two-run triple from Danny DeLucas and an unearned run on a failed pickoff attempt. Juniata answered in the bottom of the fourth, loading the bases and pushing across three runs on a bases-loaded walk by Charlie Bakken and a two-run single through the left side by Jacob Despot.
After the game was called a no-contest due to weather, the teams resumed play Friday with Lycoming taking control. The Warriors scored in the sixth, seventh, and eighth innings—capped by another RBI single from DeLucas and a two-run eighth to make it 10–3. Juniata put together a brief rally in the bottom of the eighth on RBI hits by Bakken and Despot but couldn't close the gap.
Despot led the way for the Eagles, going 2-for-5 with three RBIs. Bakken added a pair of RBIs and a hit, while Joey Woodrow scored twice. On the mound, Hunter Thomas threw seven innings and struck out four, but took the loss after allowing seven runs (six earned).
Juniata (10–28, 3–20 Landmark) close out their 2025 regular season.
