Woodrow Named Landmark Male Senior Scholar Athlete of the Year Finalist
TOWSON, MD.- The Landmark Conference announced four finalists for the 2024-25 Male Senior Scholar Athlete of the Year Award and Juniata College baseball standout Joey Woodrow was among the four finalists.
The senior from Gibsonia, Pa. had a POE in chemistry (with minors in biology and bioethics) and a grade point average of 3.99, Woodrow was excellent on and off the field. A 2024 First Team All-Landmark and All-Region Third Team selection, he finished his career with 125 hits and 74 RBI across 124 games. In the classroom, he earned numerous academic honors, including the Rockwell Chemistry Prize and multiple scholarships, and contributed to two manuscripts through undergraduate research. A two-time Landmark Academic Honor Roll honoree, Woodrow was also active in community service, organizing team involvement in events like the Special Olympics, local storm recovery, blood drives, and the United Way Day of Caring.
Finalists are selected from the conference's Senior Scholar-Athletes of the Year in each sport from the academic year. The league's overall Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year will be chosen from the four finalists and will also be submitted for consideration for the Division III Commissioners Association (DIIICA) National Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
This award recognizes a graduating senior who has demonstrated exceptional achievement in academics, athletics, leadership, and community service during their collegiate career.
