Baseball Places Three on the All-Conference Team
TOWSON, Md.- The Juniata baseball team placed three people on the Landmark All-Conference team that was announced Tuesday. Senior catcher Jace Irvin was named to the first team, junior centerfielder/pitcher Connor Blough was named to the second team as a utility player, while first-year third baseman Matthew Koehler received honorable mention.
Irvin made his second straight appearance on the all-conference first team. He appeared in all 40 games for the Eagles, hitting .273 with five home runs, 19 RBI, 39 runs scored, and 12 stolen bases. He was excellent in the field as well, with a .982 fielding percentage and threw out 13 baserunners.
Blough makes his first appearance on the all-conference team after appearing in 39 contests for the Blue and Gold. He hit .295 with four doubles, 10 RBI, 31 runs scored, 24 stolen bases, 20 walks, and an OBP of .426. On the mound, he went 3-4 in eight appearances while making six starts. He threw 29.1 innings and struck out 19 batters. In the field, he had a .958 fielding percentage with 78 putouts and 14 assists.
Koehler made his first appearance on the all-conference team and appeared in 34 games for the Eagles. He hit .370 with six doubles, two home runs, 24 RBI, 12 walks, four stolen bases, and an OBP of .432. In the field, he had 21 putouts and 60 assists.
