Field hockey extends post-season play
HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Juniata College field hockey was selected as the No. 3 seed in the 2011 ECAC Mid-Atlantic Championship tournament and will host Ramapo College on Wednesday, Nov. 9 for a 2:00 p.m. quarterfinal match.
HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Juniata College field hockey was selected as the No. 3 seed in the 2011 ECAC Mid-Atlantic Championship tournament and will host Ramapo College on Wednesday, Nov. 9 for a 2:00 p.m. quarterfinal match.
Lebanon Valley College (14-5, 5-1 MAC) has earned the first seed followed by Alvernia University (13-7, 4-2 MAC) at No. 2. Stevens Institute of Technology (11-7, 6-1 Empire 8) is right behind the Eagles at No. 4, with Wesley College (Del.) (12-9, 5-2 Capital) at fifth. Rounding out the bracket is Ramapo (11-5, 2-4 NJAC) at sixth and FDU Florham University (12-9. 6-1 MAC) and McDaniel College (10-7, 4-6 Centennial) at seventh and eighth respectively.
Juniata heads into the match with a 10-8 overall record and a 3-4 Landmark Conference record. The Eagles were recently knocked out of the Landmark Conference Championship last Wednesday, Nov. 2 by now Landmark champs Catholic University of America in a close 2-1 overtime loss.
Depending on the outcomes of the contests on Wednesday, Juniata has a chance to host the semifinals and championship match this weekend, November 12-13.
