HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata field hockey team went toe to toe with visiting #6 The College of New Jersey in the first half before they pulled away in the second half as JC fell, 4-0, Saturday afternoon at Knox Stadium.

HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata field hockey team went toe to toe with visiting #6 The College of New Jersey in the first half before they pulled away in the second half as JC fell, 4-0, Saturday afternoon at Knox Stadium.
Nicole Piccioni (Richfield, Pa. / Midd-West) was up to challenge in the first quarter as she consistently turned away all shots that were on frame. A minute and a half into the second TCNJ were awarded a penalty stroke and they converted it to take a 1-0 lead.
The Eagle defense held strong as they went into the half down 1-0.
The Lions struck twice just two minutes apart in the third quarter to put them up 3-0 as they took hold of the game.
The visitors tacked on a fourth goal in the final two minutes to make it 4-0.
Grace Kuszmaul Moorestown, N.J. / Moorestown) and Grace Woolway (Lewisburg, Pa. / Lewisburg Area) both tallied defensive saves in the contest.
Piccioni finished the game with 12 saves.
The Eagles return to action Wednesday at Messiah at 7:00.
