Annville, Pa - Juniata field hockey hit the road for a midweek nonconference matchup on Wednesday night, falling 7-0 to Lebanon Valley at Arnold Field.
Goalkeeper Kara Stringfellow stood tall under heavy pressure, recording five saves as the Dutchmen fired 28 total shots, including 12 on goal. Despite Lebanon Valley's relentless attack, Stringfellow and the Eagles' defense battled throughout all four quarters against one of the MAC Commonwealth's top offensive units.
On the offensive side, Juniata generated two shots, with Kaylyn Nierzwicki putting one on target in the second half as the Eagles worked to break through the Lebanon Valley back line. Mackenzie Long also contributed a shot attempt as Juniata earned a pair of penalty corners in the final quarter.
Lebanon Valley scored twice in the opening period and continued to extend its lead throughout the match. The Eagles held their opponents to just five shots in the second quarter, but the Dutchmen added four more goals in the second half to seal the result.
With the loss, Juniata moves to 2-9 on the season. The Eagles will head back on the road for a landmark matchup with Wilkes on Saturday at 4:00 PM.
