EDWARDSVILLE, Pa.- The Juniata field hockey team lost on the road at Wilkes University, 3-1, Saturday afternoon at Schmidt Stadium.
Jane Corbin scored for the Eagles with Sophia Ganley providing the assist. Kara Stringfellow made four saves in goal for the Eagles.
The Colonels struck twice in less than a minute as they went up 2-0 midway through the first quarter.
Midway through the second quarter, Ganley smashed a shot off the goalie and Corbin got to the ball first before slotting it low into the cage.
The Colonels tacked on one more goal three minutes later, in a high-scoring first half.
Neither team took a shot in the third quarter, before the host's held a 5-1 advantage in shots in the final quarter.
Juniata will travel to take on Elizabethtown, Wednesday at 6:00.
