Scranton, Pa.- The Juniata field hockey team lost on the road at the University of Scranton, 7-0, Saturday afternoon at Weiss Field.
Kara Stringfellow made 10 saves in goal for the Eagles, while Cassie Lease had a defensive save.
The Royals broke the game open eight minutes in and added a second less than two minutes later.
The host's offense continued to operate at full capacity in the second, as they added three more, and took a 5-0 lead into the locker room at halftime. The Eagle offense had some chances in the dying seconds of the first half, as Haleigh Wolverton and Kaylyn Nierzwicki each had a shot saved by the Scranton keeper seconds apart. Sophia Ganley forced another save from the keeper to end the half.
The Royals held a 16-3 advantage in shots and a 7-2 one in penalty corners.
Scranton added one goal in each of the final two quarters to complete the scoring.
Juniata will host a 9-5 (3-3) Lycoming Warriors team on Wednesday at 7:00.
