HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata men's basketball team had it clicking on offense all game as they soared past visiting Alfred State College, 97-65, Saturday afternoon inside Memorial Gymnasium.
Joe Bruce led all scorers with 25 points to go with three rebounds and three assists while Noah Bailey added 13 points, two assists and a rebound off the bench. Ayden Hurley totaled 12 points, three rebounds, two assists, and a steal, while Jayden Bilger contributed 10 points, four rebounds, and an assist. Malcolm Griffith added six points, 10 rebounds, three assists, three steals, and two blocks.
Two layups from Bruce, a Kocak layup, and a Hurley jumper put the Eagles up 8-0 in the first three minutes. The Eagles continued to roll, with a Tre Yawn and-one making it 22-9 with 10 and half to go in the half.
The Eagles cruised the rest of the half, leading 47-27 at the half.
Juniata won the second half 50-38, never relenting for a moment. Juniata controlled the paint 36-18, and made 13 three's while shooting 52% from deep.
The men's basketball team will begin Landmark Conference play on Wednesday at Susquehanna. Tipoff is at 7:00.
