SCRANTON, Pa.- The Juniata men's basketball team saw their three-game winning streak end at the University of Scranton, 82-67, Saturday afternoon inside the John Long Center.
Ty Kocak led all scorers with 22 points to go with three rebounds, two assists, and a steal. Malcolm Griffith totaled 16 points, three rebounds, and an assist. Joe Bruce added 10 points, five rebounds, two steals, and an assist.
Kocak opened the game with a pair of jumpers sandwiched around a Royal three. Scranton added two more threes and a jumper before William Littles Jr. splashed a three off a Jayden Bilger pass. The deficit grew to 14 before two Ayden Hurley foul shots, and a Bilger and-one sliced the deficit back to single digits.
Later, a Kocak jumper cut the deficit to seven, 31-24, but the Royals closed the final three and a half minutes with an 11-2 run as JC trailed by 16 at the break.
The second half saw the Eagles try to work their way back into the contest, but they couldn't get the deficit back down to single digits.
Juniata will return to action this Wednesday at Catholic, Wednesday at 7:00.
