Eagles Drop Road Contest with Blue Jays, 80-70
Elizabethtown, Pa. – Juniata men's basketball fell on the road to Elizabethtown College, 80-70, Wednesday evening inside Thompson Gymnasium.
Juniata (7-14, 5-10 Landmark) battled throughout but was unable to overcome Elizabethtown's early advantage. The Blue Jays led 34-29 at the break and extended their margin in the second half, never surrendering the lead.
Ty Kocak paced the Eagles with 23 points on 9-of-20 shooting, adding four rebounds and three assists in 35 minutes of action. Joe Bruce finished with 12 points, while William Littles Jr. added an efficient 11 points on 5-of-7 shooting.
Off the bench, Jaiden Aze recorded a team-high 10 rebounds to go along with six points, and Noah Bailey chipped in five points on 2-of-2 shooting, including a three-pointer. Tre Yawn added seven assists and five points.
Juniata shot 42.2 percent from the floor and knocked down 12-of-15 free throws (80 percent), including a strong 10-of-11 effort in the second half. The Eagles scored 38 points in the paint and converted 19 points off turnovers, while adding 11 fast-break points.
Juniata returns to action in Landmark Conference play on Saturday at Goucher.
