Eagles Fail To Stay Afloat At Sinking Valley
Sinking Valley, Pa. - The Eagles A and B teams continued action today at Sinking Valley, battling tough pins and lightning-fast greens. The A team shot 326 to secure an 11th-place finish in a 20-team field. The B team shot 327 today which put them firmly in 16th place.
Leading the way for the A team was Griffin Snowberger, who turned in a solid round of 79 to finish T45. Snowberger opened with a composed 38 on the front nine, highlighted by consistent ball-striking and steady play, before adding a 41 on the back to secure a top-50 finish. Matching him on the leaderboard, Ben Pintof also finished T45 with an 80, carding a 38 on the front with several key pars and following it with a 42 on the back to round out another steady performance. Ryan Hilyard contributed an 83 to place 51st, starting strong with a 38 on the front before navigating a tougher back nine, closing with a 45 while maintaining composure down the stretch. Rounding out the A team, Harrison Levithan posted an 84 to finish 65th, recording matching 42s on each side with consistent play and a series of solid approaches that helped keep the team competitive throughout the round.
Kole Washleski was dominant, turning in a composed round of 77 to finish 21st. Washleski came out strong with a 35 on the front nine, highlighted by steady ball-striking and a clutch birdie, before closing with a 42 on the back to secure another top-25 finish. Ethan Brown followed with an 81, placing T56, carding a 42 on the front and a solid 39 on the back that featured consistent play and a late surge of pars to finish strong. Ian Nagel added an 83 for T71, opening with a 43 before finding a better rhythm on the back nine with a 40, showcasing resilience across the demanding layout. Colin Wible contributed an 86 to place T84, recording a 44 on the front and 42 on the back as he battled through challenging stretches with determination. Rounding out the lineup, Nick McCann posted an 89 to finish T92, carding 44-45 with several well-played holes that reflected grit and perseverance throughout the round.
The Eagles A team will take flight tomorrow at Ledgerock GC in Mohnton, Pennsylvania, at the Alvernia Fall Invite.
