Eagles Eye The Crown After Day One at Royal Manchester
Manchester, Pa- The Juniata Men's Golf Team traveled to Royal Manchester Golf Links today to compete in the York College Spartan Shootout. The field consisted of eight talented teams and saw the Eagles place in sixth after day one in windy and rainy conditions. The team looks to improve on day two from a collective 327.
Griffin Snowberger led the Eagles today, finishing with an 81 to pace the team. Snowberger secured a T16 finish on a links-style golf course. Ian Nagel made his A team debut, snagging two birdies on the front nine en route to a team-best 81. Nagel matched his teammates with a strong front nine, finishing in T16 position. Ben Pintof followed with an 82 on the day at Royal Manchester. Pintof battled harsh conditions while shooting a team-best three over 39 on the back nine to secure a T21 finish. Kole Washleski came in one stroke behind Pintof to finish day one in T30. Washleski battled hard, grabbing five pars in a row on the back nine to shoot 83. Ryan Hilyard fought a high ball flight in the wind today, shooting an 84. The first year will look to come out strong tomorrow, piling onto his two birdies in round one.
The Eagles tee off again tomorrow and will hope for better conditions.
