HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata men's lacrosse team picked up their second consecutive win as they bested The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford, 15-3, Sunday evening at Gibbel Stadium.
Sterling Bechler had five goals, an assist, and six ground balls while Reuben Stoll had two goals, four assists, 10 ground balls and a caused turnover. Vincent Bechler tallied a goal, three assists, and seven ground balls. Liam Walsh had a three goals, an assist, five ground balls and two caused turnovers while Eli Erickson had two goals, three ground balls and a caused turnover. Seth Campbell had two assists and six ground balls while Jahmir Barber and Jackson Eastep contributed one goal apiece. Noah Harrison was unstoppable on the faceoff, going 18-20 with a program-record 14 ground balls.
The Eagles dominated the first quarter as V. Bechler, Stoll, Erickson, S. Bechler and Erickson each scored as Juniata led 5-0 after one.
Juniata's assault on the Panther goal continued in the second with Juniata leading 9-2 in the final seconds of the half. Stoll scooped up a ground ball and lasered a pass into Walsh in front of the goal. Walsh faked low before shooting high to beat the buzzer and send the Eagles into the half up 10-2.
JC outscored Pitt-Bradford 5-1 in the second half to win.
Juniata returns to action Wednesday at home against FDU-Florham at 5:00.
