HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata men's lacrosse team lost to visiting Susquehanna University, 22-8, Wednesday evening at Gibbel Stadium.
Reuben Stoll had three goals, an assist, three ground balls, and a caused turnover, while Sterling Bechler tallied three goals, two ground balls, and a caused turnover. Liam Walsh contributed a goal, an assist, and two ground balls, while Charlie Newman scored once. Ryan Madison made 20 saves.
Stoll got the ball from Walsh at the top, cut inside, and fired a low shot past the keeper 13 seconds into the game. The River Hawks countered with three straight goals before S. Bechler added a second to make it 3-2.
Susquehanna scored the next 10 goals before S. Bechler scored his second of the game to break up the run. The Eagles trailed 13-3 at the break.
SU won the second half 9-5 and outshot Juniata in the game 71-36.
Juniata returns to action Saturday at home against Goucher at 1:00.
