HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata men's lacrosse team lost to visiting Moravian University 18-5, Saturday afternoon at Gibbel Stadium on Senior Day.
Liam Walsh scored twice, while Sterling Bechler, Zane Kromer, and Dontez Porter each scored once. Landon Heddens totaled four caused turnovers and four ground balls. Griffin Umstead made 17 saves in goal.
The Greyhounds scored the first six goals of the game.
Early in the second, Porter worked through the Greyhound defense and beat the keeper with a quick shot into the roof of the net. The Greyhounds answered with three goals over the next nine minutes, before Kromer got another back for Juniata.
The Eagles trailed 10-2 at the half.
Walsh scored the lone Eagle goal in the third, when a long scuffle for the ball off a faceoff wound up in front of the Greyhound net. The sophomore attacker scooped the ball up and tossed it past the keeper.
Moravian scored the next four goals, including the first two in the fourth quarter. Walsh scored while JC was a man up, the Greyhounds answered four minutes later, and Brayden Yeager found Bechler in the final minute and fourteen seconds to complete the scoring.
Juniata returns to action at home against the University of Scranton, Saturday at 6:00.
