HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata men's lacrosse team lost to the University of Scranton, 27-4, on Wednesday evening at Gibbel Stadium.
Sterling Bechler scored twice for Juniata, while Dontez Porter had a goal and an assist. Zane Kromer tallied one goal while Brayden Yeager totaled one assist. Griffin Umstead made 17 saves in goal for the Eagles.
The Royals held an 11-0 advantage at the end of the first quarter.
Late in the second, Porter ran down the field and tossed the ball to an open Kromer, who beat the keeper.
Scranton led 20-1 at the break.
Yeager found Bechler for the opening goal of the third quarter. The Royals scored the next four goals, with the final one coming early in the fourth quarter.
Juniata scored the next two via Bechler and Porter, with Scranton scoring the game's final goal with just over five minutes remaining in the contest.
The Royals had a 75-16 advantage in shots and a 60-27 advantage in ground balls.
The Eagles will return to action next Wednesday at Susquehanna at 5:00.
