Men’s Soccer Denied by Kings, 1-0
WILKES BARRE, PA- The Juniata and King’s College men’s soccer teams battled to a scoreless tie for over 74 minutes of play until the Monarchs pushed across the only goal of the game to hang on for a 1-0 victory on Saturday night at McCarthy Stadium. The loss drops the Eagles to 2-4 overall while King’s improve to 5-1.

WILKES BARRE, PA- The Juniata and King's College men's soccer teams battled to a scoreless tie for over 74 minutes of play until the Monarchs pushed across the only goal of the game to hang on for a 1-0 victory on Saturday night at McCarthy Stadium. The loss drops the Eagles to 2-4 overall while King's improve to 5-1.
The Monarchs scored when Anthony Liddy delivered a crossing pass to Kyle Willis who headed the ball into the net inside the left post.
King's held a 12-6 led in shots and a 6-2 advantage in shots on goal. Aaron Kulig (Green Lane, PA/Boyertown) had three shots to lead Juniata. The Monarchs also had a 9-2 lead in corner kicks.
Monarch goalie Tyler Wilson made two saves while Juniata keeper Garrett Lavelle (Eden, NY/Eden) posted five stops.
The Eagles return home to host Lycoming on Wednesday. Game time from Winton Hills Field will be at 4:30 pm.
