HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata men’s soccer team fell 3-0 to the reigning Landmark Champion Elizabethtown Blue Jays, 3-0, Saturday afternoon at Gibbel Stadium.

HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata men's soccer team fell 3-0 to the reigning Landmark Champion Elizabethtown Blue Jays, 3-0, Saturday afternoon at Gibbel Stadium.
In the ninth minute, Blake Cassel (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin) dispossessed the Elizabethtown center back and the ball fell into the path of Bass Diakhoumpa (Dakar, Senegal/Mercersburg Academy). He blasted the ball past the keeper but off the crossbar.
Inside of two minutes to go in the half, a Mark Wolf (Lebanon, Pa./Cedar Crest) throw in took a bounce right in front of the Blue Jay goal, but it went out to the other sideline untouched.
The Blue Jays held an 8-4 lead in shots at halftime.
Early in the first half, Elizabethtown drew a foul inside the Eagle box and was awarded a penalty. JD Haaf of the Blue Jays slotted it home into the left side paneling to make it 1-0.
Andrew Yeich (Middletown, Pa./Middletown Area) made two great saves in the 56th minute to keep JC within one.
In the 59th minute, the visiting keeper blasted a ball down the field. Their forward took one long touch and ran down the field before chipping it in to double the visitor's lead.
Elizabethtown added a third in the 79th minute to push their lead to three.
The Blue Jays held a 17-8 edge in shots and a 4-0 edge in corners.
Yeich made seven saves in goal for the Eagles.
Juniata will host Penn College, Tuesday at 7:00.
