Eagles Drop 2-0 Decision to No. 10 Catholic

HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata men's soccer team fell, 2-0 to No. 10 Catholic at Gibbel Stadium.
The Eagles put up a defensive fight as they only allowed the Cardinals to two goals. In the first eight minutues the Eagles took two shots. A shot by Henry Doherty (Brunswick, Maine / Brunswick) went just above the goal and a shot by Bass Diakhoumpa (Dakar, Senegal / Mercersburg Academy) which went wide to the right. In the 22nd minute, Catholic took the 1-0 lead.
The Eagles opened the second half with another shot taken by Diakhoumpa. Diakhoumpa fired a shot from the middle but into the hands of the Cardinal keeper. In the 86th minute, after a Juniata foul in the box Catholic was awarded a penalty kick. The Cardinals scored to defeat the Eagles, 2-0.
Andrew Yeich (Middletown, Pa. / Middletown Area) made five saves in goal for the Eagles.
Juniata travels to Susquehanna for a mid-week conference game against Susquehanna starting at 7pm.
