HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The Juniata men's soccer team opened their 2025 campaign in dominant fashion as they won 5-0 over visiting Westminster College, Friday evening at Gibbel Stadium.
Jayden Gaynor had two goals and an assist while Jase Colino added a brace of his own. Gavin Rauhut had a goal and an assist while Brandon Marzula and Harshaan Grewal added an assist apiece.
Two minutes into the game, Gaynor got to a loose ball in the box following a Juniata corner, and slotted it into the net to open the scoring.
In the 25th minute, Ryan Angelone bent in a corner from the right side. Grewal met it in the air at the back post and headed it back across the goal. Rauhut nodded it just inside the right post to double the Eagle lead.
Juniata took their 2-0 advantage into the half.
Less than two minutes into the second half, Beckett Young lobbed a through ball to Rauhut who got behind the defense down the right wing. He took a touch before crossing the ball to an on-rushing Gaynor who tapped the ball past the keeper.
In the 58th minute, Marzula laid the ball off to Colino. The sophomore took a touch before blasting a ball into the top-right corner of the Spartan goal, shocking their keeper.
Five minutes later, he added a second as Colino tapped in a Gaynor shot that ricocheted off the post.
