Huntingdon, Pa.- The Juniata men's soccer team picked up their second win of the week as they crusied past SUNY Canton, 3-0, Sunday afternoon.
Nathan Weick struck twice for the Eagles while Gavin Rauhut coverted from the spot for the Eagles. Jayden Gaynor provided an assist. Maxwell Mattioni made three saves in goal for the Eagles.
Eight minutes into the contest, Rauhut drove down the left side and played a ball in. It was deflected by a SUNY Canton defender and Weick slotted it in to give JC the lead.
In the 19th minute, Rauhut was fouled in the box by the keeper as he beat the keeper to a through ball. He stepped up and cooley sent the keeper the wrong way as he smashed it into the left corner.
Juniata had a 10-6 advantage in shots in the first half.
In the 54th minute, Gaynor came shaloming down the left side and cut in along the endline. He found Weick eight yards out, who calmly took a touch before putting away his second of the day.
The match saw the return of one of Juniata's own, as SUNY Canton is led by Juniata men's soccer alum, Tim Penrod '07.
Juniata returns to action Wednesday against Chatham at 7:30
