Ashley Derrick joined the Juniata College Athletics Department as the Assistant Men's and Women's Swimming Coach in July 2025. A dedicated swim coach and multi-sport collegiate athlete, Derrick brings years of coaching experience, a passion for athlete development, and a strong foundation in leadership and education.

Derrick assists in all aspects of the men’s and women’s swimming programs, including practice planning, athlete mentoring, meet preparation, and recruiting. She also plays an active role in academic support and community outreach initiatives.

Prior to arriving at Juniata, Derrick served as the Head Coach of the Skippack Dolphins Swim Team, where she led training and development for swimmers of all levels, after working as an assistant coach since 2018. In that role, she planned and conducted six practices per week, implemented tailored coaching strategies, and fostered a team-first culture that emphasized growth, discipline, and resilience.

While completing her undergraduate degree at Susquehanna University, Derrick worked as a student assistant in the Athletics Department, a head lifeguard, and a dedicated leader across multiple sports. She was a co-captain of the Susquehanna women’s swimming team and a starting goalkeeper on the field hockey team. Her commitment to service was evident through her roles with the Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC), Special Olympics, Morgan’s Message, and Selinsgrove Buddies.

Derrick’s leadership development includes participation in the NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Forum and various roles supporting mental health, inclusion, and team building in collegiate athletics.

A Collegeville, PA native, Derrick earned her Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education (PreK–4) from Susquehanna University in May 2025, graduating with departmental honors and a 3.69 GPA. Her diverse experience in coaching, education, and athlete mentorship make her a valuable asset to the Juniata swim programs.
