Men’s Swimming Claims Six Event Wins in Tri-Meet Victory
Huntingdon, Pa. – The Juniata men's swimming team turned in a strong day in the pool at Saturday's tri-meet against Chatham and Moravian, earning multiple first-place finishes and showcasing depth throughout the lineup.
The Eagles opened with a victory in the 200 medley relay, as Logan Stewart, Max Baronner, Matt Rota, and Wyatt Cole won in 1:57.21. The B-relay of Marshall Radonovich, Jim Oster, Kevin Bowser, and Isaac March followed in third (2:06.50).
Cody Hartle dominated the 800 freestyle, taking first in 9:38.59, while Will Dovey placed second in 10:49.24 to complete the 1–2 Juniata finish. Radonovich followed that up with a win in the 200 freestyle (2:09.16), with Yui Inagi close behind in third (2:13.88) and Oster fifth (2:22.48).
In sprint action, Stewart and Matt Tiernan took second and third in the 50 backstroke, and Baronner paced the field in the 50 breaststroke (33.37) with Ben Schultz third (36.36). Christian Rota and Hartle went 1–2 in the 100 butterfly, with Rota clocking 1:09.84.
Cole led Juniata in the 50 freestyle, finishing second (26.25), while Schultz and March added top-five finishes. Cole also took second in the 100 freestyle (58.34), with Rota fourth (1:03.88) and Dovey fifth (1:04.07).
Inagi and Stewart went 2–3 in the 100 backstroke, and Baronner and Rota went 1–2 in the 100 breaststroke. Radonovich added another victory in the 400 freestyle (4:45.42), followed by Rota (5:00.65) and Oster (5:11.72).
Inagi also earned a win in the 200 IM (2:29.49), narrowly edging teammate Cole (2:29.66) for another Juniata 1–2 finish. The meet concluded with another relay win, as Inagi, Dovey, Radonovich, and Schultz claimed first in the 200 freestyle relay (1:48.89).
