KINGSTON, Pa. – The men's tennis team return to Huntingdon after a conference win at Wilkes on Saturday afternoon at TK Academy.
Juniata dominated doubles play, sweeping the Colonels in every match. In first doubles, Arsen Tabaldyev and Arthur DeYoung won 8-6, while Adrián Di Benedetto Vásquez and Basile Gandon swept their opponent 8-0 in second doubles. Dillon Murphy and Ross Conway beat their match up 8-6 in third doubles.
This momentum carried into singles play as four Eagles came ahead with a win. In first singles, Tabaldyev won 6-1, 6-1, while Gandon went 6-4, 6-2 to beat his opponent in second singles. Di Benedetto Vásquez fell in third singles 0-6, 5-7, while Conway dropped fourth singles 7-8, 4-7. DeYoung won in fifth singles 6-4, 6-2, and Murphy beat his Colonel opponent via tiebreaker 6-1, 65-77, 10-6.
The men's tennis team hosts Lycoming on Tuesday, April 9, at 4:00 pm.
