WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Juniata men's tennis team took on Catholic University on March 29 at the Dowd Family Tennis Courts, falling 5-2 in a hard-fought match.
Catholic took an early lead by sweeping the doubles matches. Jules Guyot and Adrian Di Benedetto fell 6-3 at No. 1 doubles, while Dillon Murphy and Arthur DeYoung dropped their match 6-1 at No. 2. At No. 3 doubles, Gustaf Geremia and Come Burghgraeve were defeated 6-0, giving Catholic the doubles point.
In singles play, Juniata battled back with two strong wins. Jules Guyot won 2-6, 6-4. Arthur DeYoung also delivered a commanding performance at No. 4 singles, securing a 6-4, 6-1 victory.
Despite those efforts, Catholic sealed the match with wins at No. 2, No. 3, and No. 6 singles. Adrian Di Benedetto fell 6-4, 6-2 at No. 2, while Dillon Murphy dropped his match 6-0 at No. 3. At No. 6, Come Burghgraeve was defeated 6-1, 6-2.
