MADISON, N.J. – The Juniata men's tennis team came up short in the first round of the 2025 Landmark Playoffs on Tuesday afternoon, falling 4-0 to Drew at the Drew Tennis Complex.
Drew claimed the doubles point with wins at the top and bottom of the lineup. At No. 1 doubles, Adrian Vasquez and Jules Guyot fell 6-2, while Come Burghgraeve and Dillon Murphy dropped a 6-1 decision at No. 3. The No. 2 team of Arthur DeYoung and Gustaf Geremia trailed 5-1 before the match was left unfinished.
In singles play, Drew sealed the match with wins at No. 3, No. 5, and No. 6. DeYoung fell 6-2, 6-0 at No. 3. Burghgraeve was defeated 6-1, 6-2 at No. 5, and Geremia took the first set at No. 6 but ultimately dropped a three-set battle, 6-2, 3-6, 2-6.
Three matches went unfinished as the hosts clinched the team victory. At No. 1, Guyot trailed 7-5, 3-2. Vasquez was even at a set apiece at No. 2, having won a first-set tiebreak before trailing in the second. Murphy trailed 6-3, 3-2 at No. 4.
With the loss that wraps up Juniata's 2025 season as the Eagles look to 2026.
