Kazancevs Leads Juniata to 7-0 Sweep Over Penn College
Huntingdon, Pa. – Juniata men's tennis rolled to a commanding 7-0 victory over Penn College on Wednesday afternoon, dominating both singles and doubles play to secure its first win of the fall season.
The Eagles swept all five singles matches in straight sets, led by a strong performance from Maksims Kazancevs at the top of the lineup. Kazancevs earned a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles, while Maxime Poustis followed with a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 2. Arthur DeYoung controlled his match at No. 3 with a 6-1, 6-1 result, and Gustaf Geremia was dominant at No. 4, winning 6-0, 6-2. Lars Herms closed out singles play with a convincing 6-1, 6-0 victory.
Juniata's doubles teams were just as effective, winning both matches by 6-2 scores. Kazancevs and Poustis paired up for a strong performance at No. 1 doubles, while DeYoung and Herms teamed up to take the win at No. 2.
With the sweep, Juniata improves to 2-1 on the season, bouncing back after its road opener.
