Altoona, Pa.- The Juniata men's tennis team opened their spring season with a 6-1 win over Penn State Altoona at Gorilla House Gym, Friday evening. The win is Head Coach Eric Gibson's first win with the Eagles.
Maksims Kazancevs and Maxime Poustis won 6-0 at first doubles, while Arthur DeYoung and Gustaf Geremia won 6-1 at third doubles. Dillon Murphy and Lars Herms fell 6-3 at second doubles.
Kazancevs cruised to a win at first singles (6-0, 6-0), Poustis won 6-2, 6-2 at second singles, while DeYoung lost 6-4, 6-4 at third singles. Geremia was victorious at fourth singles, 7-5, 6-4, Herms won at fifth singles 78-66, 6-1 while Murphy earned a win at sixth singles 6-1, 6-2.
The Eagles will travel to take on Penn State Harrisburg on Wednesday at 4:00.
