HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The Landmark Conference announced the 2014 men's track & field All-Conference selections Tuesday morning and Juniata College men's track & field team placed eight different student-athletes on the team. This marked the first year since 2011 that Juniata had athletes named to the first team.
The distance medley relay team of sophomore Matt Guetzlaff (Schnecksville, Pa./Parkland), senior Connor Robinson (Asheville, N.C./Asheville), sophomore R.J. Bogdan (Buffalo, N.Y./Canisius High School), and freshman Petro Sokirniy (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Upper Moreland) placed first at the championship meet on Saturday and thus earned First Team honors.
This marks Robinson's third appearance on the All-Landmark team for his contributions to the DMR and is his first time capturing First Team honors. Bogdan is also receiving First Team recognition for the first time, after earning Second Team honors last season. Both Robinson and Bogdan were members of Juniata's second place DMR team at the 2013 Landmark Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships.
The Second Team recipients included junior Tyler Mandley (Altoona, Pa./Altoona Area) and freshmen Trenton Barnes (Hopewell, Pa./Northern Bedford), Charlton Exley (Royersford, Pa./Spring-Ford), and Davon Jackson (Deptford, N.J./Deptford Township) who placed second for the Eagles in the 4x200 meter relay.
First Team All-Landmark honors are awarded to first place finishers at the Landmark Championships. Those who finish second earn Second Team All-Landmark recognition. To see the full Landmark release, click here.
