Men's Track Competes at Millersville Metrics
MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – The Juniata men's track and field team competed at the Millersville Metrics Meet hosted by Millersville University on April 4th and 5th.
Sprints & Middle Distance
In the 100 meters, Caleb Massare (Newville, Pa / Big Spring HS) recorded a personal best of 11.72 seconds, securing 20th place. Mandel Edelin (Washington, D.C / Ron Brown College Prep HS) followed closely with a time of 11.80 seconds, placing 24th, while Deric Fritzges (Walnutport, Pa / Northampton Area HS) finished 27th in 11.87 seconds.
Sean Buckley represented Juniata in the 200 meters, finishing 41st with a time of 26.86 seconds.
In the 400 meters, Gavin Robb (Centre Hall, Pa / Penns Valley HS) achieved a personal best, clocking 56.97 seconds to secure 17th place.
Caleb Massare delivered a standout performance in the 400-meter hurdles, finishing 5th with a personal best time of 59.10 seconds.
In the 800 meters, Josh Wilson (Chesapeake Beach, Md / Northern HS) led the Eagles with a time of 2:04.36, placing 21st. Jake Alexander (Morrisdale, Pa / West Branch Area HS) followed in 37th place, recording a time of 2:09.92. Shane Smith (Martinsburg, Pa / Central HS) and Braden Barrick (Newport, Pa / Newport HS) both achieved personal bests, finishing 46th and 47th with times of 2:18.15 and 2:19.13, respectively.
The 5000 meters saw Adam Gallo (Danville, Pa / Danville Area HS) clinching 3rd place with a time of 16:11.94, earning 6 points for the team. CJ Coffey (Burnham, Pa / Mifflin County HS) set a personal record of 16:22.16, securing 4th place and 5 points. McClain Reamer also contributed with a 6th place finish in 16:24.48, adding 3 points to Juniata's tally.
Field Events
Logan Hackenberg achieved 14th place in the hammer throw with a distance of 35.54 meters, while Talbot Reed-Jaquay recorded a throw of 22.54 meters, placing 29th.
In the javelin throw, Aaron Brumbaugh (Dysart, Pa / Penn Cambria HS) led Juniata with a throw of 45.80 meters, securing 10th place. Gavin Robb achieved a season-best throw of 41.38 meters, placing 19th. Hunter Robertson and Danny Ortega recorded throws of 35.57 meters and 30.59 meters, finishing 32nd and 36th, respectively.
Mandel Edelin represented the Eagles in the long jump, achieving a mark of 5.80 meters to place 10th. Shane Smith (Martinsburg, Pa / Central HS) and Waylon Ehrenzeller (Mifflintown, Pa / Juniata HS) followed with jumps of 5.20 meters and 4.92 meters, securing 21st and 24th places, respectively.
In the triple jump, Waylon Ehrenzeller recorded a jump of 10.96 meters, earning 15th place.
Jacob Alexander participated in the high jump but did not record a height.
Throws
In the discus throw, Spencer Siegel (Dillsburg, Pa) led the Eagles with a throw of 37.22 meters, placing 16th. Noah Rice (Shade Gap, Pa/ Southern Huntingdon HS) and Logan Hackenberg (Mifflinburg, Pa / Mifflinburg HS) followed with throws of 33.16 meters and 30.43 meters, securing 23rd and 31st places, respectively. Talbot Reed-Jaquay (Mechanicsburg, Pa / Mechanicsburg Area Senior HS) and Hunter Robertson (Clifton Springs, Ny / Canandaigua Academy) rounded out the event with throws of 26.67 meters and 16.97 meters, finishing 41st and 46th.
Spencer Siegel delivered a strong performance in the shot put, achieving a throw of 12.81 meters to secure 9th place. Noah Rice and Talbot Reed-Jaquay followed with throws of 10.93 meters and 9.74 meters, placing 27th and 37th, respectively. Logan Hackenberg rounded out the event with a throw of 8.84 meters, finishing 39th.
