LEXINGTON, KY. – Four members of the Juniata College men's volleyball team were selected to the Continental Volleyball Conference's 2016 All-Academic Team on Monday. Chad Albert (Cranberry Township, Pa/Seneca Valley), Zach Guiciardi (Creighton, Pa./Deer Lakes), Ryan Shelton (Baldwinsville, N.Y./Baldwinsville), Avery Spiess (York Haven, Pa./Red Land) are representing Juniata on this year’s squad.
LEXINGTON, Ky.- The American Volleyball Coaches Association announced its 13th annual AVCA Men’s Volleyball Division III All-American Teams on Monday. Junior middle blocker Kyle Seeley (Ellicott City, Md./Howard) was named to the Second Team.
OWING MILLS, Md.- With the opportunity to advance to the championship match on the line, the Juniata men’s volleyball team first had the task of taking on #7 Stevenson in the Continental Volleyball Conference semifinals on Friday night. The Mustangs easily took the first two sets but JC gave them a fight in the third as Stevenson ultimately won 3-0 (25-13, 25-13, 26-24).
HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Continental Volleyball Conference (CVC) announced its All-Conference Team on Thursday. Senior middle blocker Chad Albert (Cranberry Township, Pa./Seneca Valley) was the lone Juniata representative. This is his first All-Conference Award.
HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata men’s volleyball team makes a return to the Continental Volleyball Conference Tournament this Friday when it travels to Owings Mills, MD to play Stevenson. The Eagles are the #4 seed while the Mustangs are the #1 seed.
HUNTINGDON, Pa.- Needing a straight set victory over Cairn to secure a spot in the upcoming Continental Volleyball Conference Tournament, the Juniata men’s volleyball team did just that. The Eagles defeated the Highlanders 3-0 (25-13, 25-17, 25-14) on Senior Night at Memorial Gymnasium to clinch a playoff spot.
HUNTINGDON, Pa.- Holding on to a 2-0 lead over #5 Rutgers-Newark, the Juniata men’s volleyball team nearly pulled off an upset win on Friday night at Memorial Gymnasium. The Scarlet Raiders came back to win three straight sets to defeat JC 3-2 (21-25, 22-25, 25-19, 25-22, 15-12).
HUNTINGDON, Pa.- Faced with a 2-1 deficit against visiting Penn State Altoona, the Juniata men’s volleyball team fought back to win a close fourth set and easily won the fifth set on its way to a 3-2 victory on Wednesday night at Memorial Gym. The win improves the Eagles’ record to 9-14 overall while the Lions drop to 15-9 on the season.
ELMIRA, N.Y.- The Juniata men’s volleyball team traveled to Elmira on Monday night for a non-conference match with the Soaring Eagles. EC was able to get the best of the Eagles with a 3-1 victory.
HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata men’s volleyball team got back in the winning column as the Eagles defeated Thiel 3-0 (25-11, 25-23, 25-19) on Tuesday night at Memorial Gym. The win snaps JC’s six-match winless streak.
ARLINGTON, Va.- The Juniata men’s volleyball team played its second consecutive Continental Volleyball Conference match on Saturday night. The Eagles had a 1-0 lead on Marymount but the Saint won the last three sets to come away with a 3-1 (21-25, 25-21, 26-24, 25-18).
HARRISONBURG, Va.- Juniata nearly forced a fifth and deciding set against Eastern Mennonite but the Royals thwarted any comeback attempt as they held off the Eagles 3-1 (25-20, 25-17, 22-25, 27-25) on Friday night at Yoder Arena. The loss drops JC to 7-12 overall and 3-5 in the Continental Volleyball Conference while the Royals improve to 10-11 overall and 4-6 in the conference.
HOBOKEN, N.J.- The Juniata men’s volleyball team returned to the court for the first time since March 5 on Wednesday afternoon. The Eagles took on defending National Champion Stevens Institute of Technology in a non-conference match and the Ducks won by the score of 3-0 (25-15, 25-17, 25-20) at Canavan Arena.
NEW PALTZ, N.Y.- Juniata traveled to New Paltz for a Saturday afternoon tri-match. The Eagles fell to the #2 Hawks 3-0 in the first match (18-25, 12-25, 17-25).
OWINGS MILLS, Md.- For the second time this season, the Juniata and Stevenson men’s volleyball teams met in a Continental Volleyball Association match. The Mustangs got the better of the Eagles as they won by the score of 3-0 (25-20, 25-15, 25-16).
LANGHORNE, Pa.- The Juniata men’s volleyball team played its second conference match in as many days on Saturday afternoon. The Eagles rebounded well after losing to Rutgers-Newark last night with a 3-0 victory (25-15, 25-21, 25-22) over Cairn. The win evens the Eagles record at 7-7 overall and 3-3 in the Continental Volleyball Conference.
