Eagles Send Ranger's Packing on Senior Night
Huntingdon, Pa.- The Eagles picked up a dominant win over Drew on Senior Day with a 3-0 victory at home in Memorial Gymnasium.
Tyler Phillips was dominant, picking up 12 kills, five digs, and a block assist, all while hitting 556%. Jared Johnson was the other senior on the floor for the Eagles, tallying six kills, four total blocks, and two digs. David Dziekonski and Logan Peterson each tagged six and five kills, with Dziekonski securing six total blocks. Will Sierer dropped dimes all night with 29 assists, even picking up a kill on a ball hammered down the line.
Set one was utter domination for the Eagles as they ran out to a quick lead and never looked backing winning the set 25-12. The second set was another exemplary showing as the Eagles held Drew to a .000 hitting percentage for the set, winning by a score of 25-10. Set three proved to be a real challenge as the Rangers fought back, leading 6-4 at one point. The set remained close as Lukas Riccardi came to the service line and provided a series of serves, including a service ace to set up a Tyler Phillips kill on the next point to end the match.
Juniata (23-2) will continue to play at home for an alumni celebration game against Wilkes at 2:00 PM tomorrow.
