Cross Country Runs at Catholic University Invite
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Juniata College men’s and women’s cross country teams ran at the Catholic University Cross Country Invite on Saturday and saw two finish top 10 overall in the 6K. Senior Katrina Woods (Shirleysburg, Pa./Mount Union) placed third out of 53 runners and senior Nate Alter (Pittsburgh, Pa./Taylor Allderdice) finished 10th in a field of 73. Six other schools ran at the meet, including three Landmark Conference (Catholic, Goucher, and Moravian), and two Division I programs (American and George Washington).

Six other schools ran at the meet, including three Landmark Conference (Catholic, Goucher, and Moravian), and two Division I programs (American and George Washington).
Men's Cross Country
Juniata's men finished third as a team, first of the Landmark schools. Alter crossed in 20 minutes even to crack into the top 10. The second Landmark finisher at the event, he was one of five Eagles in the top 25, each all within a 59 second time span. Freshman Nick Simpson (Montgomery County, Md./Albert Einstein) placed 15th for a second straight week, finishing 24.10 second behind Alter.
Freshman Xavier Cachon (Bala Cynwyd, Pa./Lower Merion) and junior Stephen Park (State College, Pa./State College) crossed the line together. Cachon placed 20th and Park 21st with times of 20:38.20 and 20:39.60, respectively. Rounding out Eagles in the top 25 was sophomore Ryan Bogdan (Buffalo, N.Y./Canisius) who came in 25th at 20:58.80.
Women's Cross Country
Juniata's women placed fifth at the meet. This was the second consecutive week that Woods placed fourth overall. She crossed in 23:22.80, her third fastest 6K time in her career. Sophomore Jecenia Duran (Temple, Pa./Oley Valley) was the only other Eagle in the top 25. She finished 25th overall with a personal best time of 25:45.80. The mark was 30 seconds faster then her previous best.
Juniata will take a week off and return to competition next on Saturday, Sept. 14 at the Lock Haven Invitational.
