Men's XC Takes Eighth at St. Vincent
LATROBE, PA – Juniata men’s cross country team finished eighth in their first meet of the season at Saint Vincent College.
LATROBE, PA – Juniata men's cross country team finished eighth in their first meet of the season at Saint Vincent College. Conor Dimond (Summerhill, PA / Forest Hills) led the team in 21st place with a time of 28:09.9.
Nick Simpson (Silver Spring, MD / Albert Einstein) finished the race with a time of 28:46.4 in 36th place, followed by Eric Savarese (Oley, PA / Oley Valley) and Ben Martin (New Holland, PA / Garden Spot) placing 37th and 38th, respectively. Evan MacMullin (Haverhill, Mass. / St. John's Prep) ran a time of 29:36.6, finishing 53rd.
Head coach Jon Cutright noted that the cancellation of the Bucknell meet impacted the team's performance.
"We went out too slow," Cutright said. "The missed meet had us scared to go out too fast and it showed. We will be better next week."
Next Saturday, the men's cross country team competes at Lock Haven University.
