Eagles take 1st Place at Home Invitational
Reedsville, Pa - The men's cross country meet featured a strong 2-6 performance taking first place at the Eagle Invitational. Juniata scored just 20 points, placing all five scoring runners in the top six and comfortably finishing ahead of Lycoming, who totaled 38 points.
Draper led from the gun and claimed the individual crown with a time of 17:27.70, the fastest of the day. However, the real story was Juniata's control of the race from second place on. Andrew Quinn led the charge for the Eagles with a runner-up finish in 17:38.71, followed closely by Adam Gallo (3rd), McClain Reamer (4th), Conrad Coffey (5th), and Graham Thompson (6th). Juniata's sixth man, Jacob Alexander, came in 8th.
Lycoming's second finisher, Avery Rosan, placed 7th, but the rest of the team struggled to close the gap on Juniata's lead pack. Despite Draper's win, Lycoming couldn't match Juniata's depth and had to settle for second place in the team standings.
Juniata's strategy and execution proved too much for the competition, as the team demonstrated both strength at the front and consistency through its scoring five. Their performance secured a decisive team victory and set the tone for the rest of their season.
Juniata competes next at Dickinson on September 27th.
