SCRANTON, Pa.- The Juniata softball team battled back from an 11-1 loss in game one to take game two 3-2 at the University of Scranton, Saturday afternoon at Magis Field.
The teams traded zeros through the first two innings before the Royals struck first with a two-run triple to left.
Grace Hensch got one back for the Eagles in the top half of the fourth with an RBI single to center to score Eva Johnson.
The Royals scored four runs in the fifth and added five more in the sixth to end the game.
In game two, Scranton leapt ahead on an RBI-double to right center in the second inning.
Maryn Swank tied things up in the fourth with a sacrifice fly to center, which allowed Hensch to score. Later in the inning, Morgan Fraker lined a two-run single to left which scored Dani Berlin and Lexi Roush.
The Royals got one back in the sixth, but Cheyenne Silvis managed to hold the lead to get the save.
Swank got the win, pitching three innings in relief as she allowed a run on two hits with two strikeouts and a walk.
Juniata will return home to take on Penn College on Tuesday with the first pitch at 3:00.
