Eagles Score 21 Runs Across Two Wins Against Wilson

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa.- The Juniata softball team won twice on the road at Wilson College, 4-0 and 17-5 (five innings), on Monday afternoon.
Game one-
Cheyenne Silvis tossed a shutout as she went the distance, scattering four hits over seven innings with two strikeouts.
Eva Johnson opened the scoring in the second with a single to right field that scored Ashley Robuck.
Lexi Roush blasted a two-run shot to left center in the fifth, which also pushed Claire Thomas across home plate.
Johnson tacked on another run with an RBI single up the middle in the sixth to once again score Robuck.
Game two-
Wilson struck first, scoring twice in the first. Maryn Swank tied things up in the second with a two-run single down the right field line that plated Dani Berlin and Cailee Barnett.
The hosts retook the lead in the bottom half of the inning on an RBI-double to center, but the Eagles weren't done.
Juniata erupted for nine runs on five hits in the fourth to soar ahead 11-3.
A six-run fifth, featuring both Roush and Brooklynn Walker driving in two runs with one swing of the bat, increased the Eagle lead to 17-3.
Wilson scored twice in the bottom half of the inning before the Eagles ended the game.
Maddy Detz got the win in relief, allowing two runs on three hits over three innings. Gracie Ruch got the start, allowing three runs on five hits with a strikeout.
Six different Eagles drove in a run, while eight different Eagles notched a hit, and eight different people crossed the plate. Walker and Swank each drove in four runs in the game.
Juniata will travel to Dickinson to play on Thursday, starting at 3:00.
