Eagles Conclude Their Season Against Moravian

HUNTINGDON, Pa.- The Juniata softball team wrapped up their season against Moravian University, Saturday afternoon at West End Field. Juniata dropped game one 4-1, and game two 15-2 (five innings).
In game one, Cheyenne Silvis went the distance, allowing four runs on 10 hits with three strikeouts.
The Greyhounds struck first on a two-run single to right-center.
In the fourth, they added two more runs, on a groundout to short and a single to left.
In the bottom half of the fourth, Eva Johnson drove in Dani Berlin for the lone Eagle run of the game to make it 4-1.
Berlin went 1-3 with a double and a run scored, while Brooklynn Walker was 2-2.
The Greyhounds got on the board first in game two in the top of the first via a two-run home run. In the bottom half of the inning, Amanda Townley wacked a double to right center, scoring Johnson and Claire Thomas.
Moravian exploded for seven runs on five hits, including a grand slam, in the second inning to make it 9-2.
The pitchers traded zeros until the Greyhound offense got hot again in the fifth, scoring six runs on six hits, including two home runs to complete the scoring 15-2.
Townley was 1-2 with a double and two RBI, while Thomas went 1-3 with a run scored. Maddy Detz allowed two runs on two hits, while Gracie Ruch allowed 13 runs on 10 hits in 4.1 innings of work. Silvis allowed one hit in her 2/3rds inning of work.
Juniata finishes the year 16-24.
