LEXINGTON, Va.- The Juniata women's basketball team lost to Washington and Lee, 79-43, Sunday afternoon on day two of the Washington and Lee Invitational.
A Haily Sherman layup, a Kynnedy Miller three, and an Olivia Berg jumper helped the Eagles hang with the Generals early, with Bergs's jumper making it 8-7 Washington and Lee four minutes in. Later, Berg snagged an offensive rebound and found Emma Coolidge for a jumper, but the Generals scored the final six points of the quarter as JC trailed 20-9 after one.
The Generals pushed the lead to as many as 24 in the second quarter as the Generals took control. Bri Bodtorf converted a jumper at the buzzer, which made it 36-19 at the break.
Washington and Lee outscored the Eagles 43-24 in the second half to get the victory.
Bodtorf totaled 12 points to go with three rebounds, a steal, and a block, while Sherman amassed eight points, six rebounds, an assist, a steal, and a block.
Juniata will return to action Tuesday at Arcadia at 7:00.
