Eagles Fly High, Bag Fifth at Landmarks
Delaware, Pa.- The Juniata Women's Golf team traveled to Shawnee Inn & Golf Resort for the Landmark Conference Championship this spring. The Eagles were fifth in the pre-championship poll and finished in fifth place in the championship. The Eagles shot a 386 and a 376 for a collective 762, putting them in fifth place. This is marked as their highest finish in a spring Landmark Conference Championship since 2018, when they came in fourth. This is their best finish since the Landmark moved to a 10-team field.
Lily Stewart led the Eagles with a great round on day two, shooting 90 to combine for 187 for the tournament. Stewart posts the best individual round at Landmarks since Sofia Amoroso in 2023. Stewart recorded a total of five pars on the weekend, pacing the Eagles. Madeline Bainey was the next finisher for the Eagles, putting up a great showing in her second Landmark Conference appearance. Bainey finished in T25 position with a 97-94 split to shoot 191 on the weekend. Molly Schweitzer was consistent both days, finishing in the same spot as Bainey with a 191. Schweitzer finishes her second Landmarks appearance, standing in T25th while collecting two pars during the weekend. Jazmine Boland did well in her Landmark Conference debut for the Eagles, breaking 100 both days. Boland handed in her card with 99 and 96 split for the weekend. Boland had a great end to her first Landmark Championship, making a par on three of her last four holes to finish in T29 position. Kylee Marshall made her third appearance at Shawnee in the spring for the Eagles, finishing in 33rd. Marshall finished with a first-round 97 in torrential rain and wind, following it up with a 201 for her weekend total.
The Eagles are young and do not graduate anybody this year, as they will return the whole team in the fall.
