Eagles Top Rangers to End the Regular Season
MADISON, NJ.- The Juniata women's lacrosse team wrapped their regular season in thrilling fashion, winning 8-7 on the road at Drew University, to lock up the #3 seed in the Landmark Playoffs.
Kyndall Yeager tallied three goals while Peyton Goodrich had two goals, six ground balls, four caused turnovers, and a draw control. Shannon Para contributed a goal and six draw controls while Devyn Mauger and Elayna Stubbe added a goal apiece. Maeve Kuser added four caused turnovers with five ground balls, while Tess Ledeboer had three caused turnovers, three ground balls, and three draw controls. Mikayla Bodley made six saves in goal.
Mauger scored the games opening goal three minutes in, and the Eagles led for five minutes. Drew's offense got rolling, scoring the next three goals in four minutes. Yeager scored for JC inside the final 20 seconds to cut the Juniata deficit to one, 3-2, after one.
Yeager scored the only Eagle goal of the second, as the senior momentarily brought JC within one.
Goodrich and Yeager struck for the Eagles, but the Rangers had to make up for their own, and JC trailed by two Heading into the final frame.
Para brought the deficit down to one, and two minutes later Stubbe tied the game at 7-7 with seven and a half minutes to go. In the final 10 seconds, Goodrich intercepted an errant pass, darted towards the goal, and beat the keeper.
Juniata, the #3 seed, will host the first round of the Landmark Playoffs as the host #6 Elizabethtown on Tuesday at 6:00.
