Leonard Named Landmark Women’s Soccer Defensive Athlete of the Week

TOWSON, MD- The Landmark Conference announced its Athletes of the Week on Monday afternoon. Freshman goalkeeper Kerry Leonard (Cockeysville, MD/Maryvale Prep.) was tabbed as the Defensive Athlete of the Week. It is the first of her career.

Leonard stopped six shots and earned the shutout as Juniata tied Scranton 0-0 on Saturday. It was her third straight shutout and her fifth for the season as the Eagles moved into a tie for second in the Landmark standings with four points. The tie marked the first shutout for Juniata against the Royals as Scranton held an 8-0 advantage over the Eagles entering the game.

For the season, Leonard has a GAA of 1.51, which is fifth in the conference. She is second in saves (41) and in shutouts.
